Equiply Page Capture privacy

Updated September 12, 2026

The extension captures a webpage only when you activate it. Screenshots, the page title, address, capture time, and any record names, labels and notes you enter are processed and stored locally in this Chrome profile. They stay local unless you explicitly choose Attach PDF to job. That action sends the selected PDF to your signed-in Equiply shortlist only after confirmation on Equiply; it uses the existing private document storage and 20 MB limit. Capture and preparation can begin without signing in. Downloading, printing or attaching finished output requires an Equiply account. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking.

Equiply account

You can prepare work before signing in. An Equiply account is required to export or save finished output. Sign-in on equiply.me supports existing accounts, Google and account creation. The extension stores a limited export session and account display name locally. Equiply verifies that session when you finish; document content is not sent for this check. Sign out removes the local session. Identity, storage and equiply.me access support this connection.

Records are removed when you choose Discard, or when capture or History next opens after your selected retention period (24 hours by default, optionally 7 days, 30 days, or until manual removal). Closing a preview does not immediately delete it. Downloaded files remain wherever you save them until you remove them yourself. Uninstalling removes the extension’s local temporary storage.

The activeTab permission grants temporary access to the page you select. The scripting permission lets the extension scroll that page and temporarily hide repeated fixed headers. Single-page capture does not request access to all websites. Optional collection tools request the tabs permission to list open pages and optional all-websites access required by Chrome for screenshots of pages not individually activated. These optional permissions are used for user-selected collections and can be removed in Preferences. The extension does not inspect cookies or passwords. Anything visibly displayed on a page can appear in its screenshot. Annotations, cropping and solid covers are saved as an edited copy. The original is retained separately until the record is discarded. Exports use the edited copy. Backups include both versions, notes and labels; store backup files privately.

Your capture preferences, custom menu shortcuts and floating-window reference are stored locally. The extension does not capture your desktop; it captures the selected browser tab. The optional floating menu uses a separate window, and always-on-top mode uses Chrome Picture-in-Picture when supported.
